Ok, it has been almost a week since I last posted. But nvm, cos I have to revise (again) for the upcoming Maths CT 4 in week 9. =.= Anyway, GET READY FOR A LONG, LONG, POST NOW. :D

Friday was our National Day celebrations. I HAVE TO DO GUIDES YEOMAN SERVICE! :( I actually didn't want to do it cos I will miss out on the celebrations (the singing and all) but I must do it as I've never done it before and there's a requirement of at least 3 times per year. It's already past mid year and I did none so it's time for me to do the service. I was really very sad that I couldn't watch the performance but no choice, I have to do it. Fortunately, I got to watch the marching and participate in the mass dance! Hahaha, I felt so happy. I love the marching! It was so cool! Everybody was so neat and uniformed. How I wish I can be part of the NDP next year. :DDD Shortly after we went to the hall, Carin and I have to go back down to the canteen nd get ready to serve the food already... :( So sad. The indoor performance haven't even started yet when we were up there. It was only the prize presentation! So we missed about 1 hour of the indoor performance, including the community singing. There was the modern dance and the malay dance, community singing and cheering too! Sounds so fun. We heard the Cedarians up there singing and jumping to the songs, enjoying themselves... BUT, we, the fellow guides down at the canteen doing duty, also had our own fun! Hahaha, we also sang together, formed a circle and 'joined the people upstairs' in jumping! Hahaha! So hilarious. Then after the performance, the guests and the VIPs came down to the canteen and this was the time when we were doing the duty, by serving refreshments to the guests, VIPs and the teachers. In the end, there were many leftovers so we started eating them too! Haha, we were quite rude, actually. :( Then we also let the Cedarians eat them, and even the cleaners were invited! The performance ended at around 10.30, while I finished the duty at about 11.45?! I actually planned to out with Xin Yu and Jeslyn for lunch but they decided that they didn't want to wait for me and went home to eat their own lunch in the end. Actually, it's quite impossible to ask them to wait for me. I finished my duty at around 11.45! Hahaha. Then I was so lonely and I decided to go home by myself. However, I dropped by J8 to see whether I could buy anything for my lunch.
So that was how I spent my National Day celebrations on Friday. -_-

In the evening, we watched the Opening Ceremony for the Beijing Olympics 2008. I was so excited! Hahaha. The performance was so wonderful and spectacular, with such elaborate costumes. The performers were very synchronised and everything was very neat and grand, of course. Then we waited and waited for the march past of the countries that was taking part. Wow, there are 204 countries participating in this Olympics! Cool man! I stayed up all the way until Singpore finally marched out. =.= If I'm not wrong, Singapore is the 188th country to come out. Hahaha. What a really long wait. The part that I liked most is the lighting of the Olympic torch. Li Ning was the one who lighted up the Olympic Torch. He was 'flying' in the air to the HUGE, HUGE torch at one corner of the Bird's Nest and then, he transferred the flame to one stick or sthg then the HUGE, HUGE torch officially lighted up! So cool! Yeah!

Saturday was National Day. Singpore's 43rd birthday as a nation. I'm so proud of my country. Singapore has been through 43 years of hard work and effort that leads to what it is today. (I bet Jeslyn is even prouder of Singpore than me. Haha!) I watched the parade at my aunt's house, then we watched Calefare and First Class. I like First Class better cos it's very school-like and it's so comical! Calefare is not bad also... :)

Yesterday, we saw (on TV) Tao Li swimming in the semi-finals for the Women's 100m Butterfly event. She was actually the last in the first 50m, but later, she 反败为胜 and became 3rd in the end! She also broke a few records and her best timing now is 57.44s, I think. :D What a wonderful job! Now, she has moved on to the Finals, which has already taken place just now in the morning. She didn't win any medal, as she came in 5th. It was already a very good effort that she managed to enter the finals. Tao Li is the first ever Singaporean to enter the finals of any swimming competitions. So she has already done Singapore proud. :D

I'M SO EXCITED FOR THE OLYMPICS! Hahaha. I wanna see whether any athlete manage to win a medal and do us proud. :) There's still many days to go, and also many more events that has not started yet, like the Table Tennis. GO, TEAM SINGAPORE! :D
