This is my 223th post. Hahaha. Which means the previous one is the 222th! Haha.

Ok, today was Teachers' Day. I was looking forward to the concert! Yeah.
One regret of the day was that firstly, I wasn't there with the class when the class comm members presented the gifts to Mdm Er and Ms Ong. :(
They had loads of fun! Alicia did this weird facial experiment on Mdm Er by cutting out the cucumbers and placing them on Mdm Er's face! Lol!
And Sarah did this 'dramatic proposal' to Ms Ong? Like present the fake rose to her, saying that 'she was captivated by her style' and wondering how she had 'so many belts'! Hahaha. Yes, I was indeed amused at the fact that Ms Ong has so many different type of belts, outfits, dresses, that she wore a different set of clothes every single day, for at least a whole month! Imagine that! Haha!

One thing I don't really like about Teachers' Day is that after the concert, I have to go around the school, looking for teachers to give my gifts and cards to. =.= It's kinda irritating, not that I don't like to give them things, but it's the thing that you have to squeeze through the crowd, search for them among the sea of Cedarians. Bleh. But this year, I didn't really make a lot of cards, only 4, and very little gifts. Very little and small in size. Hah, but I know it's the thought that counts. However, seeing all the other Cedarians giving such wonderful and beautifull presents... Hahaha. But I know that 'what I do and make will always be special'! :) (Trying to gain some individuality here... xD)

Yes, I do trust you. :)

This weekend was alright. Yesterday, same thing, went to jog, then went to Sembawang Shopping Centre. I suggested that place for dinner cos it has just undergone renovation, secondly it's near to our location then. Yeah, thought that it'll be quite nice, but bleh, it's still boring on the whole. Cos it's small. Yeah. And the Popular there has got nice Carebearrrs! :)

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire! Wheeheehee! I'm into the last quarter of the book already! Yeah man. It's so super interesting.

Today I spent the whole afternoon making 4 Teachers' Day cards. Yay. Feel accomplished. :) And I hope the teachers will like it. I don't like it when people who do not know how to appreciate cards, say that, 'don't need to make so nice, your teacher won't appreciate.' =.= How untrue! As in you shouldn't say that ok, it's spoiling one's attitude towards handicraft, and showing that you yourself don't appreciate these kind of cards.

Anyway, tmr I'm looking forward to the celebrations in school! Hehehe. I bet it'll be very fun! Oh well, hopefully.

Gah, I gtg now and finish my ke tang zuo ye! And read HARRY POTTER! :D

Sports Day today was fine. It was quiet fun. (: Enthusiasm was high. (: Yeah, even though Gardenia didn't win the house champion, I think it's the sportsmanship and team effort that counts more.
But I can't help feeling about indignant for ourselves. Sigh. This year's sports day is really unfair to the Sec 4s. It's the time whereby they're busy preparing for their prelims, and they're deprived of a chance to compete! They have to study and all, can't go for the Heats etc. Boo.
And Garde's Sec 4 classes are strong. I think. Yeah, they should be, cos I rmb last year they helped a lot. That's one of the reason why we won house champion last year. But anyway, Rose won the house cham instead.
Cheerleading was cool. Just love watching cheerleading. Some unfortunate things happened, but of course, I shan't say. Garde's cheer won 2nd. Very good! Ours was very nice! Rose won 1st for cheer also, and theirs is good too. They worked very hard for it. Oh, I sort of sympathetize Bougae, not in a bad and sneering way, but sincerely, cos I also see them practising very often, I think also every day, and I also thought that their cheer was good! However they didn't win. Ixora won 3rd. No offence, but I thought that Ixora's isn't really fantastic...

After that, we went to Fork and Spoon food court for lunch. Glad I introduced this food court to my friends. There's quite a variety of food there. :) Saved like, a dollar or so, and this dollar means a lot, ok, when you're in dire straits. Hahaha.
Then went to Orchard Central, Urban Write. I go there just to go to that shop, alright? I know that shopping centre is boringgg. Yay, glad that I also impressed my friends at the size and wonderfulness of Urban Write! :D Luckily they're still having a discount at that shop.
Speaking of the discount, I'm glad that I surveyed the receipt carefully. After the counter staff gave me the receipt, I immediately scanned it to check if there were any mistakes in the scanning whatsoever. True enough, there was. The 20% storewide discount, was only keyed in for the last item that she scanned. Which meant that my keychain was only discounted. And what about the rest of my 4 marker pens, and the white sheet of paper? =.= Hehe, so I went back to the counter and enquired about it.
After 10 long minutes or so, I finally gotten back some 'refund', of $1.55. I know this might sound stupid to you, going all out for just $1.55. I don't care how you think, but this $1.55 enabled me to buy a drink while on the way home ok? It turned out that Nat, Sabrina and Regi also didn't get all of their items discounted. Hahaha. I guess they didn't really know? Anyway, it didn't matter a lot for them, cos theirs is just a refund of a few cents.
After that, we went to Bugis. Walked around Bugis Street for a while only, around half and hour, cos we went over to Iluma to book movie tickets for Year One. I didn't watch, cos I didn't wanna watch. So, as usual, I saw sthg that I liked. :) A nice 'overall' sort of thingy. I'm just so used to window shopping.

I'm really coming to find out more about Idelle. Hahaha, had quiet a good and nice talk with her just now. Nowadays I really got to know her more man. Haha. It doesn't matter if you get in or not, as long as you're happy. :)
It seems like I came to realise how big my mouth is. I know, you don't have to remind me to shut up. I know that a lot of things are beyond my control. And sometimes I myself can't stand, well, I myself. But it's irritating, annoying to know that you are just following the crowd. Whatever people do, you follow suit. You don't seem to have individuality! I can't stand someone trying to be cool, trendy, and change their character, the things that they do. (I'm not really one of them.) It just shows how easily swayed you are. You have shown a weaker side of you, and it's horrible to know it. Just be yourself! Do what you think is right to you, and just ignore what others think of you! That's what I always tell myself, just ignore the weird stares of other people. I know it makes me look nerdy/goody-goody/kiasu/too stressed, but who cares man? Just do what you think is right. Don't do sthg because you think that it makes you cool, I just can't stand what you were doing. I know I cannot change you, but at least I have changed my impression of you.
And I can't stand people who did what you did, and made what you said an excuse. It reflects on your character.

I actually shouldn't be here, I should be revising for Malay, but I think I'm alright so, yeah.

Before dinner, I was calculating my marks for all the CTs combined together. I think it's alright, mostly A1s, but these A1s are low, like 75 or 76. Lit is like, so lousy! I mean, it's C5 okay? And I'm like, :O Haha, actually I know I can't do Lit, but of course, who likes to get those kinda results? Hmm, then anyway I started thinking about the bigger picture, and you know what I did? I went to calculate my overalloverall score for all subjects! Hahah! As in only for Maths, Science, History, Geography and Literature. Yeah, and it was 74%. Haha, I have not much comments for it, just that I know that I can do better, because my Lit is pulling the overall marks down.
I must DO WELL FOR EYE! Gosh, I'm so prepared to sacrifice man. And hopefully I can reap what I sow, which means, do well, enjoy my holidays, do what I wanna do (like shopping!) and others. :D:D:D

Yay, tmr we're gonna go to HPB for our Health Troope Badge. I love these kind of excursions! Especially the bus rides. :) And I love going to visit the exhibits and hopefully, learn sthg about our health! :D

Oh, now to a more negative area of my post, I can't stand ppl who keep criticising Singapore, be it environment, politics, or entertainment. It's seriously annoying, to keep hearing criticism and complaints about Singapore. Even though I agree with certain of their points, but it's really irritating to know how negative they feel about SG. You don't have to be patriotic like me or Jeslyn, but learn to appreciate more of what we have in SG! Don't be so demanding and expect so high of everything! If you're not happy, then just go and migrate, which most of you ppl who criticise will, I guess. Bleh. I can't stand it.

Monday, August 24, 2009

sometimes, you make me feel bad. you make me feel lousy. you don't understand anything. they say that i'm not what you think. and seriously, what's the problem with wearing school identity out to other places? they say pressure is good, but too much will defeat the purpose.
Boo I'm so bored at home. I don't feel like studying, and what's there to study for? Don't talk to me about End-of-Year Exams I tell you. We haven't even got our timetable yet!

Oh, speaking about EYE, I heard that our first paper, which is language, is on 1 October! That's so late man! So late! I can't stand it! I must say this. I'd rather they place it at the same period as last year. I prefer it to be like, on Term 4 Wk 2, and 1 Oct is Term 4 Wk 3, Thursday, which, btw, is Childrens' Day. Hahaha. I know. Childrens' Day doesn't apply to us anymore. We are YOUTHS already man.

Anyway, yes, I shan't bore you about exams and tests. I had a wonderful weekend! Heheheh. Went to Orchard yesterday. Went to Orchard Central and ION Orchard. Orchard Central is boring, I tell you! The shops are all in nooks and corners; it's so difficult to walk! Plus, there are very few shops. But there's only 1 shop worth going there - Urban Write. I love that place man! It's a stationery-cum-gift shop. It's actually a branch of Popular. It's big and spacious! They sell things like notebook, cute asseccories as in bookmarks etc that isn't sold in Popular. There was a 20% sale there, and I was tempted to buy the markers! It was placed and arranged so nicely that I feel like buying them ok? But I'll buy next time, preferrably before my revision for the exams.
In general, if you wanna go to OC, pls don't go there. It'll bore your soul out. Unless you want to see that Urban Write. Tampines 1 also has that shop, btw.

ION Orchard! It rocks! It's so big! There's 8 levels, 4 above ground and 4 below ground. Fantastic man! Excellent way of maximising land use (still haven't got over the Geog CT fever)! Which means there'll be a lot of shops. And yes, there are a lot of shops. And a lot of human traffic too. I had only time to go to B2 and B3! But we didn't even scrutinise those two levels. Haha, shall go again after the exams. :D Yeah, the shops that I saw were mid-ranged. I don't even want to go to the upper levels! Too high-end and expensive for me! XD I love that place man. I really wanna go again after exams and really shop there!

Sports Day is coming. Teachers' Day is coming. Whoa. Which means this week will be a 4-day week, and next week will be a 3-day week. As in real school days. I feel like going out after Sports Day, but I seriously don't know where man. And I don't wanna go shopping. (Haha, for once? Nah, not the first time.) Maybe I'll see if I can go to Bras Basah to buy my stationery! Yippee. :) Cos I feel better when I have good marker pens to use when revising. Hahaha. I make use of colours! And I think we won't get our EYE schedule by Friday, so there's not much of a use going to home to study after Sports Day.

Hmm, do you realise how I inculcate 'EYE/exams' in every paragraph? OH NO, WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME MAN? AM I TOO STRESSED? :O Haha kidding. Can't stand it man.

Patrol Day today was fantastic. I enjoyed it so much! It was fabulous!

During the last period, it started raining very heavily, with thunder and lightning, and the Guides in 2I were like, 'Oh gosh, we surely cannot go ECP already'. But then, at about 2 plus, it slowly became a drizzle. By the time we went to ECP, thankfully, it had stopped raining. :) Yay.

Because some of us haven't eaten lunch yet, so we quickly went to either Macs or Subway to packet food. We didn't want to eat in the restaurant itself, so we went to one of the shelter, sat in a circle, and talked. That's why it's called bonding session! Haha.

I requested for us to cycle/rollarblade, cos I seriously can't stand going to ECP, and not cycling or rollarblading! I mean, you go all the way there, once in a while, with your beloved patrol members, and you just sit down, and talk. For more than an hour? Haha, no way, in my opinion. xD

And so we did, as what I suggested. I rollarbladed. Yay! I had hoped right from the start to do that. Hehe. But if I'm not wrong, I'm the only one in the whole of Guides that rollarbladed just now! :X So embarrassing! It's like, I'm the only one literally on wheels, and most ppl were staring at me... Especially during the gather of the official dismissal.

Ok, so after we ate, (and I'm proud to say that I DIDN'T EAT FRIES), we started to rent our bikes, for me, the inline skates. It costs $10 for 2 hours. Actually it's $10 for one hour, but the second hour will be free. So effectively it's just $10 for 2 hours. Yeah. Thankfully the ground dried up relatively fast. At least it's not wet enough to make me slip and fall. :)

It was cooling, during the ride. The sun was not very strong, just nice. Overall, it was quite a perfect weather. We cycled/skated to quite far away, about 1 km +, around 1.5? I dunno, then we U-Turned just before the flowery area, which we thought was actually a good place to take photos. We had to rush back for the 'official dismissal'. Halfway there, Celest fell down. Boo. ): Because suddenly Zhi Hui and Nithya came riding past Celest in quite fast speed, so perhaps she...? But anyway, she's fine, just a little cut on her palm. Don't worry Celest, it's alright. It's not embarrassing, haha.

Throughout the whole dismissal and all, I was still in my skates! haha! I think ppl were shooting me weird glances. Hmm...? Too bad the Sec 1s (in my patrol) and the Sec 4s couldn't go... Shall organise another second official patrol outing in the Nov/Dec Hols!

After the 'official dismissal', Orchid patrol decided to go for another round again. Wheeheehee. Our aim was to reach the flowers area, but when we were quite close to there, we were quite tired, so we stopped, rest for a while, took one more photo, and set off back again to return our skates/bicycles.

Honestly, at that point, I was tired, but still, some part of me had the energy to carry on. Haha, of course, I'm always to energetic! Hahaha. My butt and thighs was a bit sore! XD But not so bad bah. Haha. Felt a bit weird to be wearing shoes after I changed out of the skates. Hehe.

Today, I'm glad that I shared a few more things with my patrol. Like how I told Zhi Hui what I feel about cheerleading. Haha. Cheerleading is fun! And We really bonded like glue okay. Who says patrol outings are useless? So fun man. ZH was telling us about how our next patrol outing would be like. Haha, sounds cool!

AOA, if you're seeing this, I wanna say that today really made me feel closer than ever to this patrol. Orchid, the one and only Orchid patrol in Cedar Guides. We are unique! We rock man! OPromise! :D
Sec 3s: Hmm, today, I felt like, hmm, I really got to know you guys much better. :) And more confident of myself!
Sec 2s: NITHYA AND CELEST, I was so glad that our attendance for Sec 2s and 3s were full strength, ok, I was initially afraid that one of us couldn't go. You guys made the outing even more special! :D
Sec 1s: It's really sad that you guys couldn't go, but don't worry, there's a next time. End of the year! Look forward to it! :D

I want to let you know, that you, are the one and only person who inspired me, and led the pathway for me. I don't know if you'll see this, but I really appreciate all that you've done for me, for us. you've proved to me, to us, that an 'impossible task' deemed by others can be conquered. you've showed, proved, conquered it all. what's more left to say about you? your legacy that you leave behind will never be forgotten.
Hoho, the last CTs of the year is over! Yeah, even so, I shouldn't be too happy and gleeful. What's the point man? When you know that your End-of-Year Exam is just one month away? Bleh. Such a spoilsport. :(
And the fact that the year is closing up on us simply tells that we only have 2 months left with our class! 2I '09 <3>

I'm excited for Patrol Day tmr! We're going to ECP! :D Whee~! At first, the Sec 3s said that we could even go to Parkway Parade, however, now it's forbidden. Yeah, that's better, if not we can just wander around and that's dangerous. Anyway, cycling and rollarblading are equally interesting and fun too! Haha. Relives the good ol' memories of ANNUAL CAMP '09!

I'm also very interested in guitar now! Hahaha. Ever since we started learning guitar for Music lessons, it kinda increased my interest in this musical instrument. Our test is next week. I feel average for it. Now, after the CTs, I've been pratising for a while every day, about 20 min, so at least I'll be prepared on Friday for the test. :)

Today was a really, really interesting day. No, I mean this afternoon. Just that one hour can make me feel so different!

Idelle, Jaime, Xin Yu and of course, Cikgu! We had this really interesting and refreshing talk. I bet Jeslyn would love to be there. It's so interesting that I really have to announce it here man.
Today I saw a new Idelle! Yes, it's her birthday today, but other than that, wow, I knew all along that she's very smart and mature and has kinda a different perspective from others, but never did I know that she's so... deep! In terms of chim! Not a bad comment, but she really has a very different view and opinion from others. It's fascinating! I can't believe how someone can be so unique and weird! Hahaha. She is like this opposition party, and she likes to comment on everything, from our school's education system, teachers, to our nation's politics! Cool! I mean like, she makes sense most of the time. However I just find it a wonder how one can be so different from others. Hahaha. Good job Idelle, for 'opening up my horizon'!
Happy Birthday! :D

And Cikgu is the best man. She's such an interesting person to rally with! She just shares anything, everything with us. I love talking to her after Malay class. It's not like we're wasting time this afternoon. I learnt a lot from Idelle and Cikgu. Quite a huge part of it is about literature, conformity. Yes, that's what might be tested for tmr. Ooh, I just love it man. Just chatting about current affiars etc.

I realised that I haven't said anything about the Arts LJ. Hmm, or have I? Haha. There's the last 2 CTs of the year tmr! Finally! Faster come! So that I'll get over and done with the CTs. I also hope that the exams will come! ASAP! Seriously, I'm not kidding. Even though we have to revise and all, I'm really looking forward to the day of the final exam, how everyone will be so excited, the moment the invigilator releases us, and the BURSTS OF RELIEF, LAUGHTER, JOY from classmates, friends, schoolmates... It's just wonderful!

Sunday, August 16, 2009

I feel so disciplined this weekend! hahaha. Was busying mugging for the 3 more CTs. Last CTs of the year! But did I mention that there's still the exams? Yeah, of course, how can the school year end without the EXAMS. Spoiler. ):

But anyway, didn't go out much this weekend. For this whole afternoon and evening, I've been staying cooped up in this house, revising for Geog, doing Maths Rev. Ex 8, and playing guitar. HAHAHA. Right now my chin is leaning on the 'curved' part of the guitar. I'm still deciding whether I should play this or that. Hmm.

Question 1) Ok, back to Geog, let me type out the advantages and disadvantages of HIGH DENSITY BUILDINGS.
Advantages
- Free up the space needed for other activities, e.g. recreation, commercial.
- Reduces the rate at which green spaces are being lost.
- Can accommodate more people in an area of land, able to house the growing population.

Disadvantages
- Creates a crowded environment and causes traffic congestion.
- Increase in stress levels and reduction of quality of life.
- Higher noise level and pollution.

I disagree with the second point of the disadvantage. Can someone tell me how does building high density buildings lead to the reduction of quality of life?

Question 2) Now, advantages and disadvantages of mixed land use.
Advantages
- Convenience of having homes, jobs, services in the same area.
- Wide range of amenities ensures the needs of many users are met.
- Urban land area is maximised.

Disadvantages
- Construction and reconstruction of new and old buildings and transport network are costly.
- Increase in traffic congestion.
- A lot of noise and air pollution.

Question 3) Why is conservation of land necessary?
- So that there will be ample land to develop in future, when the need arises.
- The country will not lose its greenery, its native flora and fauna for research.
- The country will not lose its cultural and historical heritage.

Question 4) State two ways by which land can be conserved.
1. Setting aside land for nature reserves is a method of conserving land where land is carefully managed to protect its wildlife, plants and other natural features and to provide special opportunities for study or research.
2. Planning that includes green spaces withing the town. For example, the Botanic Gardens and nature parks are found within the cityscape of Singapore in spite of growing demand for land for commercial and residential uses.

These are some of the 'most obvious' questions that I think might/will come out in the test tmr. Hmm. Mrs Tan said that the test will be easier than the sample one that she gave us. But sometimes I'm telling myself that I mustn't take things to easy! Always hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Yeah man, my 招牌 quote. :)

Friday, August 7, 2009

P/S: I changed my blogskin. Yeah, this one's for Sabrina! Haha, the Eiffel Tower so evident...! :)
Today was Cedar's National Day Celebrations 2009. Whew. It was nerve-wrecking. :/ I was nervous for our parade! I was scared someone from our contingent, or even me, will screw up. Haha. The dry-run in the morning helped, cos it sort of did wake us up a little and get us prepared. The atmosphere was really cool, with so many people cheering for us, the Guides contingent, the whole parade contingent. And the weather was cooling in the morning, with the sun not yet so brilliant. :) I expected the National Day Message to be longer, but thankfully it was shorter than expected. I think I was fidgeting a bit, uncontrollably! Weird! Haha.
But I think that Cedar Guides did a great job! Yay(: We worked hard for 3 months. :) And we're glad that everything went smoothly in the end. Anyway, it's the learning process that matters more. I really learnt a lot and improved in footdrills. And discipline.
Good job Cedar Guides squad! :)

After the parade, I went out with Xin Yu, Sabrina, Wei Ting and Natalie. This XY, last minute, today, then say she wanna come along. Haiyo, before that the past few days, I've been asking her, and giving her time to consider, and she said no. Then today, she suddenly say she wanna come. Haiyo. Then we got to book the movie tickets for her also. =.= Luckily there's still quite some vacant seats...
Oh, and did I mention that we watched 'UP'? Haha, the movie was very nice. :) A bit touching, and funny too! Haha, I think the 3D one will certainly leave us on the edge of our chairs. Cos some parts are really created for the 3D effect. I like how they end the movie. :)
After the movie, we walked around at Bugis Street. Haha, I know I just went there about 3 weeks ago, but yeah, saw a few things that I wanted to buy. However, as usual, I had not enough money! :/ Hah, it's always the same situation I tell you. But nvm, after much consideration, I thought that actually I didn't need those clothes at all. I should just take out the newer clothes and wear first bah.

Since I've had my fun already, I should settle down and study... STUDY. :\ CTs coming up. Must revise! First up is Science... Haha, Science...

Sunday, August 2, 2009

Tomorrow will be a bit different... Assemblies gonna resume (yay, finally!), and Maisarah won't be here anymore... :( Really sad. Oh well, she's in Malaysia getting ready for her new school.

Hmm, I'm bored. This weekend was ok, not exactly very busy for me. I'm so glad that all the planning for CEYD 2009 is over! I can finally take a break. However not too a long a break for me, cos CT 3 is coming up! Just the week after National Day! Boo): Must start revising.

Ok, I'm starting to like Art lessons, cos I can develop on my nicenice idea! The landmarks one... Inspired by the Dubai Falcon City of Wonders. You should really go search the web for it. It's amazing! :)

And Sabbie's influencing me to fall in love with the Eiffel Tower. :( Haha, I actually quite like it, but ever since recently, she's been injecting some French-Paris-EiffelTower talk into me. Hahaha.

Ok, this is really boring. Shall end before I carry on with my nonsense.

colours... of my life?
